What 1 in 36 means

The main draw selects one number from 1 to 36. If you purchase one distinct number, one of the 36 possible outcomes matches it and 35 do not. Expressed as a percentage, 1 divided by 36 is about 2.78%.

This base probability applies to the number match. Mega Ball and Monsta Ball are separate result features with separate bets and should not be mixed into the 1-in-36 calculation.

What happens when you play several different numbers

Different numbersBase hit chanceMinimum base cost
11/36 = 2.78%$10
44/36 = 11.11%$40
88/36 = 22.22%$80
1212/36 = 33.33%$120
1818/36 = 50%$180
3636/36 = 100%$360

The table assumes the minimum $10 base wager on each different number and no bonus-ball bets.

Why covering every number is not a profit system

At $10 each, covering all 36 numbers costs $360. Exactly one base number would win $280 under the current base payout, leaving the player $80 below the $360 base cost before considering any bonus wagers. A guaranteed hit is not the same thing as a guaranteed profit.

Do past results change the next odds?

History can show repeats, gaps, frequency, and unusual runs. In an independent fair draw, those observations do not change the mechanical 1-in-36 chance of each number in the next draw. The last winning number can play again immediately.

This is why a model should be measured against real future results and a random baseline rather than judged from a convincing story after the result is known.

Use probability to set limits

Decide the maximum total cost before choosing numbers. Count base, Mega, and Monsta stakes together. Do not treat a miss as a reason to double the next wager, and do not borrow money to increase coverage.
